Yesterday was “Parade Day”. Fans who attended the game received an early Thanksgiving Day experience. Several floats including the “Motown Float”, “Wizard of Oz Float” and the “Celebrate Detroit Float” were outside the park for fans to enjoy. The Parade Company’s mascots Clownie, Hotdog and Baseball along with Pirates and face painters greeted fans inside the park. Entertainment from the Mid American Pom Pon team and music from the Martin Luther King High School marching band also helped create the overall experience. The ceremonial first pitch was thrown out by “America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” queen Brenna O’Malley. Brenna won a scholarship contest held by the Parade Company and was featured on the Thanksgiving Day “Princess Float” last year.
