For the final Detroit Music Spotlight during the 2010 season we present to you Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr. On Sunday, September 26 at 12:15 PM prior to the Detroit Tigers vs. The Minnesota Twins game listen to you Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr over the loud speakers at Comerica Park. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. is a duo of Detroit frontmen: Daniel Zott of the Great Fiction, and Joshua Epstein of the Silent Years. As professional men of music and leisure, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. delivers a quasi-psych mix of folk, hip-hop inspired drum programming, and effervescent pop.

Channel 7 WXYZ-TV’s chief Meteorologist, Jerry Hodak will be wrapping up his 45 years in television later this evening. Jerry is a native Detroiter who grew up in the area with his family. When asked about his first career choice, he replied : “The first thing I wanted to do when I was a kid was play third base for the Tigers,” Hodak said “I couldn’t hit the curve ball so I went into television.” (Detroit News)
On September 8, Jerry came to Comerica Park and threw out a ceremonial first pitch. He was greeted with a standing ovation from the crowd! Thank you, Jerry for the great weather over the years for our Detroit Tigers. Best of luck to you!

Are you ready for a group that is as outrageous as Iggy, as blue collar as Segar, as Dark as Alice, as revolutionary as the MC5 and as boundary crossing as the Kid? Detroit Music Spotlight continues at Comerica Park featuring a group that is just that, The Orbitsuns. On Tuesday, September 21 at 6:15 PM prior to the Detroit Tigers vs. Kansas City Royals game listen to The Orbitsuns as the local musical selection of the day. They are the Motor City’s finest purveyors of low down and dirty outlaw country, and are eight-time Detroit Music Awards best country band.
The band is made up of front man Vinnie Dombrowski, Sir Tim Duvalier on guitar, Bob Hecker on bass and Jimmy Paluzzi. Their Albums “First Drink of the Day”, “Dollars & Dice” and “Redneck Disco Revisited” are available online.

Hey Tigers Fans! Check out the new dugout jackets for 2011. This is the jacket that your favorite Detroit Tigers players will be wearing on-field during the 2011 season. The jackets are now on sale exclusively at the Tigers Team Store at Comerica Park.
Women’s jackets are $120 and men’s are $150. The body of the jacket is lined with fleece and around the neck is a double collar to keep you warm. This is the perfect jacket to welcome the fall season in Tigers Style. The Tigers Team Store is open Monday – Friday from 10AM to 3PM and during all Tigers home games. If you can’t make it down to Comerica Park, the 2011 Dugout Jacket will be available soon at tigers.com/shop.
