Alex Avila scoops ice cream for charity
Baseball fans and ice cream lovers were invited to a downtown ice cream extravaganza today. The Hudsonville Summer Extravaganza celebrated the beginning of the summer and becoming the official ice cream of the Detroit Tigers at Campus Martius Park. Detroit Tigers catcher Alex Avila, Bree Worth, wife of Tigers infielder Danny Worth, and Bobbie Coke, wife of Tigers pitcher Phil Coke, joined the festivities by scooping and serving ice cream in exchange for donations to the Detroit Tigers Foundation. PAWS and the DTE Energy Squad were there to add to the fun and remind fans to send their favorite Tigers to the All-Star Game by going to tigers.com/vote.
Girls Just Want to Have Fun!
The ladies absolutely loved “Girls Night Out” on Saturday June 16th hosted by the Detroit Tigers and the Somerset Collection CityLoft. The evening kicked off with a pregame runway show in the Big Cat Court featuring feminine fashions from Majestic modeled by DTE Energy Squad members. Women who purchased “Girls Night Out” ticket packages were invited to a private VIP Party after the game in the Tiger Club with a DJ, complimentary drinks & hors d’ouvres, facials provided by Bare Essentials & massages provided by Origins. Tigers pitchers Phil Coke and Joaquin Benoit made special appearances for photos and a meet and greet with the ladies as well. Those in attendance also received complimentary gift bags from Somerset Collection CityLoft which included a certificate for an overnight stay at MotorCity Casino Hotel. Girls Night Out was definitely a grand slam!
