The Return Home

Lots of things going on at Comerica Park today. The marketing department has just approved a new TV commercial that will debut on Monday, our ticket sales department has just launched the July Double Play and Super Summer Special. The All-Star Voting parties that happened this week were well attended and garnered over 12,000 votes for the Tigers. Although paper ballot voting ends on Sunday, the online polls will remain open until 11:59PM on July 2. Our recent website updates include the addition of a Sunday Kids Days page as well as VIP ticket sales for the Kid Rock Concerts in July.

The biggest news is that next week we are hoping to conduct our first-ever "Twitter Event". Details are still being worked out, but you will definitely want to be a follower of our official Twitter feed, OFFICIAL_TIGERS to find out as soon as possible. Front Office Luncheon

Every few months, the entire front office gets together and has a staff luncheon. It's kind of a bi-monthly "State of The Tigers" meeting with food. The luncheons that happen this time of year are always interesting because our entire scouting department is able to attend as they prepare for the draft. Today's luncheon discussions were about the draft and also about ideas to make Tigers games more fun. Some of the ideas are being discussed next week and some will be implemented before the season is over.

Autographs, All-Star Game, Father's Day & more!

The team is back in town and the Front Office is buzzing! This homestand has a lot of things going on behind the scenes:

The marketing department has been working on ads to promote the new June Double Play ticket offer and just launched the Kid Rock VIP Sweepstakes. The first wave of 2009 online surveys have been finalized and should be emailed to all tigers.com registered users next week. (FYI, you can become a registered user by clicking here.) Corporate Sales has an autograph signing this Saturday with Placido Polanco at Verizon Wireless in Royal Oak. Speaking of autograph signings, Gerald Laird and Jeff Larish will be signing autographs at ABC Warehouse in Canton to benefit "Gloves For Kids". Autographs are free if you bring new or gently used baseball or softball equipment.

All-Star Vote results came out today and the good news is that Curtis Ganderson moved up and Placido Polanco is now running fifth for the starting second baseman's job. The bad news is that Miguel Cabrera is now fourth in voting for A.L. first basemen. If you want to change this, vote now. You can vote up to 25 times a day per email address. There will be a HUGE All-Star vote party at Hockeytown Cafe on June 18th. Be sure to attend!

Our Father's Day contest ends next Friday. Be sure to sign up for your chance to have your Dad (or child) throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Father's Day!

BTW, if you're coming to the games this week, we have received ticket requests from several celebrities, so keep your eyes open! (Here's a hint: There are a lot of movies being filmed in town! And some great concerts too!)
