Almost 50 years later, I asked myself if people was ready to hear this USA National Anthem performance in a Baseball Stadium in Detroit, World Series, less than 30 years after World War II, less than 20 of Korea and in the middle of Vietnam. No doubt, great Ernie Harwell was, but Ernie was a very special man. His criteria wasn't the one you expected on the usual American at that time. Certainly, this performance was to costly to Feliciano, as an artist he suffered a boycott from radio, TV and record enterprises. Many people insult and degrade him as singer. In my opinion, his performance is one of the best ever of the Star Spangled Banner, an example of ART and creativity in a very controversial decade. Many thought it was a shame. I don't think Jose Tried to insult anyone, he just respond to the musical trends of the late 60s. Rock star and poet, Bob Dylan said once " times are changing" well, this was an example of how 60s impact the American Culture, the expression of a "Pluribus Unum". If you think about it in a big picture perspective, this is a checkpoint in the history of American Music tradition. Simply beautiful. Thanks to Tigers for a new opportunity in 2013, and for post it, it seems like redemption to Jose.

Awesome day. My favorite Tiger, however, is Al Kaline. Grew up watching him play, modeled my own play after him. Never got a chance to meet him. I have his rookie card, and his retirement card, would love to get a signed baseball from him.

I REALLY wish I didn't live so darn far away from Detroit! I would LOVE to get the chance to meet my favorite team. *sigh* I just want to give 'em a hug and maybe a cupcake or something. Is that so much to ask? Oh, well, maybe someday, I hope! :)
