Described as “a literate, boozy amalgam of obliquely western tinged indie rock”, Drunken Barn Dance will be featured in Detroit Music Spotlight. Listen to Drunken Barn Dance at Comerica Park tonight Wednesday, September 22 at 6:15 PM prior to the Detroit Tigers vs. Kansas City Royals game. The band is made up of Scott Sellwood, Scott DeRoche, Ryan Howard on drums, Greg McIntosh on guitar and music veteran Jim Roll on bass.

Shining a light on local music talent

 

Are you ready for a group that is as outrageous as Iggy, as blue collar as Segar, as Dark as Alice, as revolutionary as the MC5 and as boundary crossing as the Kid? Detroit Music Spotlight continues at Comerica Park featuring a group that is just that, The Orbitsuns. On Tuesday, September 21 at 6:15 PM prior to the Detroit Tigers vs. Kansas City Royals game listen to The Orbitsuns as the local musical selection of the day. They are the Motor City’s finest purveyors of low down and dirty outlaw country, and are eight-time Detroit Music Awards best country band.

 

The band is made up of front man Vinnie Dombrowski, Sir Tim Duvalier on guitar, Bob Hecker on bass and Jimmy Paluzzi. Their Albums “First Drink of the Day”, “Dollars & Dice” and “Redneck Disco Revisited” are available online.

The Juliets are a collection of outstanding local Detroit musicians, including guitarist Jeremy Freer, cellist Kaylan Mitchell, violinist Sarah Myers, bassist Ashton Hopkins and drummer Jackie Phillips. The Detroit Tigers are proud to introduce Detroit Music Spotlight. This new musically based feature will provide a chance for Michigan-based artists to showcase their music in front of thousands of Detroit Tigers fans.

 

Detroit Music Spotlight continues at Comerica Park on Tuesday, September 7 at 6:15 PM prior to the Detroit Tigers vs. Chicago White Sox game. The local musical group to be featured tonight will be two-man hip hop collaboration Progress Report.  Featuring rapper D. Detroit Music Spotlight will begin at Comerica Park Monday September 6, 2010 at 12:15pm prior to the Detroit Tigers vs. Chicago White Sox game. The first local artist to be featured will be Dante LaSalle of Plymouth, MI. Dante is a Hip Hop artist who has toured North America extensively.
